Responsible Use
of AI

This document outlines Lumiveil Studio's ethical framework, technical standards, and client commitments regarding the use of artificial intelligence in our photographic process. We publish this openly because trust is the foundation of everything we create.

1. Our AI Philosophy

At Lumiveil Studio, AI is a tool in service of the artist — never the artist itself. We use machine learning and image processing algorithms to extend what is physically possible in post-production lighting, texture preservation, and color science. Every decision made by our AI pipeline is reviewed, approved, and refined by a human artist before delivery.

We are deeply aware of the ethical landscape surrounding AI and biometric data. We take this responsibility seriously and have built our internal processes to reflect the highest standards of care.

2. What AI Does in Our Process

• Light sculpting: AI analyzes and reconstructs light direction, softness, and temperature to produce cinematic results that would be physically impossible in a single capture
• Skin tone preservation: AI ensures accurate, respectful rendering of all skin tones across diverse subjects — with human review as a mandatory final check
• Noise reduction & sharpening: Machine learning-based clarity enhancement without the artifacts of traditional methods
• Color grading assistance: AI proposes color curves and tonal balance suggestions which our artists then interpret and refine
• Background refinement: Selective depth and environmental enhancement while preserving subject authenticity

3. What AI Does NOT Do

We maintain absolute boundaries on AI use in our work:

• AI does not generate synthetic faces or replace any part of a client's appearance with fabricated elements
• AI does not alter body proportions, age, or identity unless explicitly requested and confirmed in writing by the client
• AI does not train on client images — our processing pipeline is closed and client data never enters public or commercial AI training datasets
• AI does not make final creative decisions — all output is reviewed and curated by our human artists
• AI is not used to deceive — every client is informed that AI-enhanced post-processing is part of our workflow

4. Data & Consent Principles

• Client image data is processed exclusively within Lumiveil Studio's secured internal infrastructure
• No image data is transmitted to third-party AI cloud platforms
• Clients must provide explicit informed consent before any AI processing occurs — this is included in your session booking agreement
• Consent can be withdrawn at any time prior to gallery delivery
• All biometric-adjacent data (facial geometry references used for light sculpting) is deleted within 90 days of session completion

5. Disclosure to Clients

We believe in complete transparency. Every client receives:

• A pre-session brief explaining what AI processing will be applied to their images
• The option to request a "minimal AI" version of their gallery (traditional post-processing only)
• Clear labeling in their gallery of which images have been AI-enhanced
• A written summary of the AI tools and processes used on request

6. Our Internal Standards

Lumiveil Studio commits to:

• Annual review of our AI tools and processes against emerging ethical guidelines (including IEEE, EU AI Act, and Creative Industries AI frameworks)
• Staff training on responsible AI use and bias detection twice per year
• Maintaining a human-in-the-loop for every stage of AI-assisted post-production
• Refusing to adopt any AI tool that cannot guarantee client data isolation
• Publishing updates to this document whenever our AI practices materially change

7. Reporting Concerns

If you have concerns about how AI was used in your session, or if you believe any aspect of our AI process has been applied without your knowledge or consent, we want to hear from you immediately.
